Aseptic gear motor
Challenge: Offshore fish farms needed drive solutions that could withstand constant saltwater exposure, submersion, and harsh marine conditions while maintaining reliable winch operation for net systems.
Development process: BEGE’s engineering team developed a completely aseptic gear motor through iterative design and testing phases. The solution combined IP67 submersible protection with specialized C5 marine nano-coating, smooth hygienic surfaces without cooling fins, and integrated MIG encoder technology. Multiple coating layers were validated through independent salt spray testing to ensure long-term corrosion resistance.
Result: A purpose-built drive system that operates reliably in conditions where standard motors fail within weeks. The aseptic design also opened applications in food processing and chemical industries, demonstrating how targeted development creates broader market opportunities.
Custom MIG encoder
Challenge: Machine builders working with non-standard drives – NEMA configurations, hydraulic motors, DC motors, and custom gearboxes – couldn’t find suitable encoder solutions, forcing design compromises or accepting inaccurate feedback.

The development included 3D printed prototypes for immediate testing, followed by aluminum samples for endurance validation. Shaft-mounted gear motors
