About us

BEGE professionalizes drive processes by creating, optimizing and maintaining reliable drive systems.

Your Drive, Our (Trans)Mission for 70 Years

BEGE was founded in 1950 as a drive equipment wholesaler. Since that time, we have successfully assisted numerous companies in making their drive processes more professional. Why do they opt for BEGE? Our customer’s business is our top priority. We provide a solution that is relevant to your business.

Every drive is unique

BEGE takes a different approach to companies and their drives. Machine manufacturers have different requirements to dealers and end customers. In the food industry, certain factors apply that do not in agriculture and horticulture.

At BEGE, we do not rely on a standard solution that fails to meet your requirements. We build long-term relationships and focus on how our drive systems can contribute as effectively as possible to making your aspirations a reality.

Together

We achieve this by working together to build robust partnerships where personal relationships are of central importance. We are involved with your company and listen and respond to your preferences. You can rely on us even in the event of unforeseen circumstances. We always aim to find a quick and complete solution.

Finally, we attach great value to quality and efficiency; these are terms that facilitate knowledge-building and product and process innovation.

Mission

We create, optimize and maintain reliable drive systems to ensure your small or large industrial company can focus on its core business without any worries.

Vision

Together with our customers and partners, we expand and innovate, creating efficient solutions and dependable partnerships in order to ensure process continuity.

Values

Focusing on our customers, high quality and performance, integrated solutions, and open-minded, future-oriented innovation.

BEGE Through the Years

1950 - 1959 The early years In 1950, Bernardus Gerardus Paulides was given the opportunity to start selling Baumuller electric motors. He founded the company Technisch Handelsbureau BéGé NV from his attic. Soon after, he also began selling Bockwoldt (Cebeha) geared motors. 1960 - 1969 Supply and delivery The 1960s were characterized by moves to new locations, providing more room for work and storage. BéGé also bought its own truck, reducing lead times significantly. Stocks and lead times were all-important back then too, and this enabled BéGé to supply from stock even during slower periods. This was unique at the time. 1970 - 1979 Expansion The expansion continued into the 1970s.
By now, stocks included various electric motors, geared motors, and Ströter, Dierking, Gronau, Atek, and Weier products. An expansion to Wassenaar resulted in a new, central warehouse measuring over 600 m2.
1980 - 1989 The next generation Partway through the 1980s, Paulides' son Gerard took over the company along with his business partner Frans Spreksel. B.G. Paulides said: "It is – with great reluctance – time for me to pass on BéGé to a younger generation." Due to changes to Dierking's product range, BEGE decided to launch its own geared motor. 1990 - 1999 Sassenheim In 1993, BEGE moved to Sassenheim. The lot measured over 7000 m2. More than 4200 m2 was built up, with a third of that dedicated to storage. Storage capacity has since been expanded to over 4500 m2 (2017). 2000 - 2009 Innovative total supplier The turn of the century was all about innovation. BEGE developed stainless steel drives and electric motors for the food processing industry. It also entered into partnerships, including one with S.T.M., thus continuously evolving itself as a Total supplier 2010 - present A reliable partner in drive solutions This is the decade in which BEGE took over sales activities for LAT Trommelmotoren and both sales and manufacturing for Ströter Antriebstechnik GmbH. Thanks to these events, BEGE was able to develop into a fully-fledged manufacturer of a wide range of geared motors. 2010 - present Increased capacity In 2017, BEGE improved its semi-automated spraying facilities to increase coating efficiency, capacity and quality. Production and warehouse facilities were also expanded to improve quality and reduce lead times. 2010 - present Product innovation Near the end of the 2010s, BEGE added the MIG encoder and Bosch Rexroth frequency converters to its range of quality components. This means that BEGE is now able to supply complete, integrated drive solutions in addition to various individual drive components. This made BEGE ready for Industry 4.0.
